When creating the BarDojo WordPress theme, we put ourselves in the shoes of a bar/restaurant owner who wants a simple one-page (or multi-page) website that looks good, requires no maintenance (or is easy to maintain via WordPress), would be very informative, and would prompt the visitor to contact them for a reservation.
So we have the first screen dedicated to a slider with some stunning images and beautifully designed typographic titles. After that – there’s the menu. 3 dedicated columns for some highlights and then a button that you can link to your entire menu in .pdf format for example. All this combined with some of the Chef’s recommendations.
And from them comes the About Us section – with a block dedicated to who we are, chefs, history, the idea and the concept slider.
Events – the first event comes first and is expanded. It has the same aspect ratio as a Facebook event cover image. It has a countdown, title, start date and time, brief description and a link to the event page on Facebook. Plus the entry price and a call to action button. Enough to keep your audience informed and engaged.
A filterable photo gallery where you can mix photos of your events, food, interior of your place, etc.
In the Reservations section we haven’t forgotten the good old telephone contact method, as well as a reservation form. Below that we have the Opening Hours, current time and the status of your bar – is it closed for a private party?
And then the contact information with some social links, address, phone number and a map.
